We have been able to avoid kid’s sports for a couple of years now. I just have this thing about how much of a kid’s childhood is filled up with “schedule” and I have been fighting it off whenever I can. I want my kids to be kids. I want them to spend an entire afternoon creating an imaginary world in the toy room. I want them to lay around in their jammies when they don’t have school. I want to take them to the zoo just because it’s a nice day. I want them to color pictures, and watch cartoons, and bake brownies with me in the middle of the day. I don’t want them to spend their childhood in the car racing from one commitment to the next. So, we haven’t! But with Bryce’s crazy work schedule, and this never-ending winter we are having, I decided that we are spending too much time at home! So an opportunity to play on an indoor soccer team came up, I found out that Lexi and Isaac could both play on the same team (there are some benefits to having kids 1.5 years apart). Bryce agreed to help with the coaching, and everyone is loving it! I have loved watching them all out on the field. And I must say that I am very proud of my kids. They are into the game, they are learning skills, the stay focused the entire time, they love every minute of it! Go Black Tigers!
